Design and build
Despite its huge battery, Redmi Note 10 is slim and narrow. The materials are mostly plastic yet the phone itself is IP53 rated for dust and splash protection. This means it can survive water splashes and spills here and there. The frame is metallic while the rear panel has a glass-like finish. This one is prone to fingerprints and smudges but you can take advantage of the case included in the package. Redmi Note 10 comes in Shadow Black (Onyx Gray), Frost White (Pebble White), and Aqua Green (Lake Green) colors.
There is also a protruding camera module housing quad cameras that are identical to the Redmi Note 10. On the right are the volume keys and power button which doubles as the fingerprint scanner. Redmi Note 10 is a Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by) smartphone just so you know. At the top, there’s a loudspeaker, a signature IR blaster, and a secondary microphone. While underneath we’ll find here, the 3.5-millimeter audio Jack main microphone, USB-C port, and a loudspeaker.
Android 11, MIUI 12
For its operating system, Redmi Note 10 runs on MIUI 12 based on Android 11. Pre-installed apps include Amazon shopping, booking.com, LinkedIn, Mi-remote, and the usual apps from Google, such as YouTube, Gmail drive photos, and the like. It also has a dedicated dark mode that can be toggled on in the settings. Storage-wise you are getting 128 gigabytes of space with a usable 107 gigs out of the box. Not to the internals. Powering the MIUI 12 is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 678 with an Areno 612 GPU. Note 10 has two RAM and storage options – 4 and 6 gigabytes of RAM and 64 or 128 gigabytes of internal storage. Performance is excellent.
48 MP quad camera
Now let’s talk about the camera. This Note 10 comes with a quad-camera consisting of a 48-megapixel main, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide a 2-megapixel macro, and another 2 megapixels for depth sensing. While the 13-megapixel selfie can handle selfies very nicely. You are going to get awesome daylight photos with images, that capture a lot of detail, and are also quite sharp. While the ultra-wide does have an okay quality, it still is useful. Since edge distortion is not too jarring. In portrait shots, the subject background separation is also good.
Likewise, the macro shots are also as good as one would expect here. For low-light shots, the device won’t require you to stay still to capture a photo. When it comes to selfies, the natural skin tone is retained and it doesn’t go overboard with the beauty mode on. Portrait mode also has an excellent subject background separation. With videos, you can shoot up to 4k@30 frames per second. The only thing lacking with it is optical image stabilization.
AMOLED display
The Redmi Note 10 features a 6.43-inch full HD plus AMOLED dot display screen with thin bezels. Looking at it side by side with a Redmi Note 10 Pro its punch hole is slightly bigger. Above that, you can find an earpiece. As for protection, t’s covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Keep in mind though that it doesn’t come with a pre-installed screen protector. You’ll have to purchase that separately for additional protection. The display settings allow you to choose between auto mode, saturated and standard. This display’s quality is pretty good. It has a great contrast of vibrant colors, and deep blacks, and is bright enough for outdoor use. Simply put, interacting with it is a pleasurable experience.
Battery and connectivity
Redmi Note 10 comes with the usual connectivity features such as dual SIM wifi 5, Bluetooth, 5.1, a USB type C port, an IRA blaster, fingerprint scanners, and of course the lovely 3.5-millimeter audio Jack. Powering the Redmi Note 10 is a large 5,000 mAh capacity battery, which is great for an affordable daily driver. If you’re a light user, then the Redmi Note 10’s battery life should be more than enough for your daily needs. You may also want to see Redmi Note 9 which was released in 2020, on May 12.
